How to Catch Kyogre on SoulSilver

Kyogre is a powerful water-type Pokemon found in HeartGold, but not in SoulSilver because while the games are similar, the monsters differ. However, sharing Pokemon monsters between the games is allowed and even recommended, especially if you want them to become more powerful. Catching Kyogre on SoulSilver involves you first capturing him in Pokemon HeartGold and then trading him into the SoulSilver game.

Instructions

  Insert the Pokemon HeartGold version in the game console. Play the game and obtain a Pokemon-like Scyther or Farfetch, as these know of the False Swipe move. Use this move as they move into the next level.

  Find Pokemon that have the Sleep-Inducing and Paralizing moves. Stock up on Ultra balls and Timer balls.

  Earn all 16 Gym Badges in the game by defeating all of the Gym leaders.

  Head towards the Mount Silver cave west of Route 28. Climb the mountain and defeat Red. Continue on to Pallet Town in western Kanto and visit Professor Oak's Laboratory. Choose one of the Pokemon offered and head toward Johto. Enter Mr. Pokemon's house and get the Blue Orb.

  Go to the Hidden Tower to find Kyogre. Battle him with the strongest of your Pokemon, using the False Swipe and Paralyzing moves to slow him down. Use the Sleep-Inducing move to make him go to sleep.

  Save the game and enter the Pokemon Center. Move to the second floor and enter the Pokemon Wireless Club Union Room by speaking to the person in the middle of the room.

  Open the Pokemon SoulSilver game on another game console. Enter the Pokemon Center and enter the Pokemon Wireless Club Union Room, as you did in the Pokemon HeartGold game. Select trade when you see both consoles connected. Select the Kyogre as the Pokemon to trade. Confirm the trade on each console to complete the trade and send it to the SoulSilver Pokemon game.
