Which Quests Do You Need to Complete to Unlock Al-Cid in Final Fantasy Tactics A2?

Al-Cid is a character in the Final Fantasy game series. As a romantic Spanish man, Al-Cid takes on the role of defending a woman̵7;s honor. In some of the Final Fantasy games, he is a foe you encounter and must defeat, while in other games he fights alongside your team to defeat your enemies. In Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Al-Cid is a foe you battle during the game. Once the game is complete, he will join your party after you complete a side quest.

Recruit Panelo and Vaan
- Go to Fluorgis and encounter Al-Cid. Speak to Al-Cid and accept the quest ̶0;An Elegant Encounter.̶1; After a brief cut scene with Al-Cid, Panelo will join your party. In Fluorgis, accept the quest ̶0;Where Could He Be.̶1; Defeat all the enemies and protect Vaan to complete the quest. Vaan will join your party when the quest is complete.
A Dashing Duel
- Go to Aisenfield and pick up the quest ̶0;A Dashing Duel.̶1; Defeat Al-Cid and his group. If you are trying to get the law bonus at the end of the game, focus only on Al-Cid. Whether you are going for the law bonus or not will not affect whether Al-Cid joins you the end of the game. When you have defeated Al-Cid, the quest will be complete and Al-Cid will leave.
Complete the Game
- Play the complete storyline of the game, all the way to the quest ̶0;The Ritual,̶1; in which you defeat Illia. Defeating Illia will complete the game. Save and exit the completed game.
Continue with the Saved Game
- Start the game and select the completed game file. Go to any pub and read the notice called ̶0;An Elegant Letter.̶1; Accept the quest ̶0;A Refined Recruit,̶1; and travel to Targ Woods. A cut scene will begin, in which Al-Cid will join your party.
