How to Connect the Acekard to a PC

Acekard, a flashcard designed for use with the Nintendo DS and DSi, acts like an adapter and can accommodate a micro SD card. When plugging it into a computer, all you need to do is remove the micro SD card from the AceKard and use a card reader. However, Acekard also comes with its own firmware, and you have to be careful not to erase its format in order to continue using the micro SD card in your Nintendo DS or DSi.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the micro SD card from your Acekard and insert it into your card reader. Connect the card reader to your computer with the USB adapter.

    • 2

Go to "My Computer" and right click the corresponding driver for the micro SD/SDHC card. In the options menu, pick "Format" and then click "Start." This formats the card in FAT32.

    • 3

Go to the official website for Acekard 2i and download a compressed file of firmware files. Extract the file using a standard compression application and place it in a desktop folder -- or anywhere else you choose to save it. Two files will be in this folder: * akmenu4.nds (driver file) and * __ak2 (firmware folder).

    • 4

Highlight both files and configure them into the micro SD/SDHC root directory. You can configure the files by any of these actions: drag and drop, copy and paste, send to, or transfer.

    • 5

Copy the file and the entire folder onto the card memory. This step will make your micro SD card act like any normal storage device. If you want to add audio or video files, create folders and just copy them into the micro SD card.

    • 6

Release the micro SD/SDHC card from your computer and take it out from the card reader. Put the micro SD card back into the Acekard and insert your Acekard into your DS or DSi.
