How to Get Rayquaza in Pokemon HeartGold Without Groudon

Rayquaza is a legendary Pokemon found in multiple Pokemon games, including "Pokemon HeartGold." In order to catch Rayquaza in "Pokemon HeartGold" you must use an item called the Jade Orb. Professor Oak will give you the Jade Orb when you catch a Kyogre and Groudon and show them to him. However, Groudon is not available in "Pokemon HeartGold" and can only be obtained by trading the Pokemon over from "Pokemon SoulSilver." If you do not have a means of obtaining Groudon, the only other way to obtain Rayquaza is through trading.

     Trade friend codes with another player who is willing to trade you a Rayquaza if you are trading via Wi-Fi. You do not need friend codes for a direct DS-to-DS transfer.

     Load your game and visit any Pokemon Center in any town.

     Talk to the woman behind the desk on the second floor of the Pokemon Center to conduct the trade. You will be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi connection or your friend's DS.

     Follow the on-screen instructions to accept your friend's Rayquaza.
