How to Get the Birds in Soul Silver

Legendary Pokemon, powerful creatures with enhanced stats and special attacks, make an appearance once again in "Pokemon SoulSilver." Several legendary birds hide in the regions of Kanto and Johto, each waiting for a worthy trainer to challenge it. Birds, like Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno, starred in earlier "Pokemon" games, and they make a return once you get all 16 badges. Two more birds, Ho-Oh and Lugia, roost in the Bell Tower and the Whirl Islands.

  Track down Ho-Oh by first going to Pewter City and speaking to the man walking around by the entrance. The man gives you the Rainbow Wing. Head to Ecruteak City and show the Rainbow Wing to the guard blocking the Bell Tower. Go to the top of the Bell Tower to find and capture Ho-Oh. To capture Ho-Oh, you need to damage it until its health bar turns red, then throw a Poke Ball at it.

  Conquer each gym in the Johto region, and then go to the dance hall in Ecruteak City. Fight and defeat the kimono girls in the dance hall to get the Silver Feather. To defeat the girls, talk to each one and battle their Pokemon. Each girl has a different version of the Eevee Pokemon. Head to the Whirl Islands and dive to the bottom of the ocean where you see a whirlpool to find Lugia.

  Collect all 16 badges and go to Silver Cave, located between Kanto and Johto. To get the badges, you must defeat each of the 16 gym leaders in both regions. Find Moltres waiting for you in a deep pit inside Silver Cave.

  Go to Route 10 after you get all 16 badges. Surf on the water until you see the power plant. Go to the side of the power plant to find Zapdos.

  Head to Fuchsia City and surf southeast after you gather the 16 badges. Surf until you reach the Seafoam Islands. Swim around the islands until you see a platform with a blue bird standing on it. This is Articuno; climb the stairs to capture it.
