M3 Lite Integration

• The M3 Lite flash cart enables users to use Moonshell by providing it as a built-in application. In turn, M3 Lite users are instantly able to play a wide range of multimedia files by installing it on the device̵7;s proprietary MicroSD card. Users may transfer such files though a third-party MicroSD adapter, which commonly operates through a USB, plug-n-play interface.

Video Encoding

• Moonshell̵7;s video playback capability is achieved through the DPG format, a type of MPEG-1 video specifically designed for Nintendo DS consoles. Video framerates are typically 20fps, which is the recommended speed used to avoid possible slow down sessions. File converters that support the DPG format include imTOO DPG Converter, BatchDPG and DPGEnc.

Audio Compatibility

• Moonshell also allows the M3 Lite flash cart to play numerous audio formats, many of which are widely used by operating systems and electronic devices. Some of these file extensions include MP3, WMA, OGG, MIDI among others. Unlike Moonshell̵7;s video encoding procedures, audio files do not require any form of conversion to play on the device. Furthermore, Moonshell supports Free Lossless Audio Codec files, or FLAC, which greatly compresses audio files without any loss of quality or data.

• Moonshell is capable of displaying typical image formats such as JPG, BMP, GIF and PNG files. Moreover, users can essentially turn their Nintendo DS into a digital book platform thanks to Moonshell̵7;s text file support. Much like other multimedia formats, audio and text files are transferred into M3 Lite̵7;s MicroSD card through any third party adapter.
