How to Do WiFi Battles on Pokémon White

̶0;Pokemon White̶1; for the Nintendo DS allows you to talk and trade with other players across the world through the Nintendo DS̵7; internal Wi-Fi connection. You can also use the Wi-Fi connection to participate in live battles. You can battle people you know with the use of ̶0;Friend Codes̶1; or enter random matches with strangers to gain experience and rank within the Pokemon community.

Instructions

  1. Friend Code Battles

    • 1

Play through the game until you find the Dream Mist for Fennel. Her aide will give you the Pal Pad.

    • 2

Open the Pal Pad and select the option to enter a friend̵7;s code. Enter your friend̵7;s name and friend code.

    • 3

Go to the middle door on the top floor of any Pokemon Center in the game. This is the Wi-Fi club. Talk to the character in front of the door. Select ̶0;Go to Wi-Fi Club̶1; and then click ̶0;Yes̶1; to access the club. You may also choose to save your game. Have your friend do the same in his own game. Your friend must be in the Wi-Fi club to engage in battle.

    • 4

Interact with the console on the far side of the room and click ̶0;Battle̶1; to start a battle with your friend. Battling with a friend follows the same process and rules as any other battle in the game.

    Random Matchup

    • 5

Enter any Pokemon Center in the game. Travel to the far right room on the second floor of the Center and talk to the person in front of the door.

    • 6

    • 7

Choose between the two sets of rules for the match. ̶0;No restrictions̶1; is just what it implies: there are no restrictions on the match and you can play with any Pokemon in your team. ̶0;Flat Rules̶1; battles impose a series of rules on the match. Under these rules, you can't use most special Pokemon, you are limited in which items you can bring, all Pokemon top out at level 50 and you can't bring more than one of the same Pokemon into the match.

    • 8

Choose your battle type if you are playing under ̶0;Flat Rules.̶1; ̶0;Single Battle̶1; allows each player to use three Pokemon. ̶0;Double Battle̶1; allows each player four Pokemon. ̶0;Triple Battle̶1; allows each player six Pokemon and ̶0;Rotation Battle̶1; allows you to use four Pokemon.

    • 9

Enter the battle. The process of battling in a Random Matchup is the same as battling in the game.
