Obtaining the Super Rod in Pokémon SoulSilver

Once you have the Super Rod on ̶0;Pokemon: SoulSilver̶1; you can catch all the fish in the game, because it is the most powerful rod. Fishing on the game is the main method you can use to catch aquatic Pokemon. Find this item by talking to a fisherman in Route 12, just south of Lavender Town.

Instructions

  Enter Route 12 by going south from Lavender Town. Walk down some stairs until you reach the wooden bridge network. Move downwards across these bridges to reach a small hut. Go to the right straight away, unless you wish to fight the fisherman to the left.

  Get a picture taken of you and your team by the character in the bottom right corner of the near-square section of bridges. If you don̵7;t want a picture, walk past him to the left. Go downwards and then to the right to continue following the bridge.

  Fight the trainer to the right. You can try to avoid the fight if you wish, but the trainer will generally walk towards you to start the battle. Continue past the trainer and decide whether you wish to fight the fisherman further to the right. If not, walk straight downwards instead of towards him.

  Fight the two trainers to the left of the walkway as you move downwards. These trainers will attack you automatically because you have to walk straight past them. This is a double Pokemon fight. Win the battle to continue your quest to find the Super Rod.

  Walk further downwards and then turn to the right when you get the opportunity to. When you reach the end of the pathway to the right, you can move upwards to fight another fisherman if you want to improve your Pokemon, or alternatively you can just walk downwards.

  Walk downwards and notice a house on your left. Walk into the house by the door on the bottom side. This brings you inside. Notice a fisherman in the middle of the house wearing a red hat. Talk to him. He will ask you if you like fishing. Tell him that you do and he will reward you by giving you the Super Rod.
