How to Get the Moonstones in Pokemon Diamond

A major component of the gameplay in "Pokemon Diamond" for the Nintendo DS is exploration. Seeking out far reaches of the map can yield such advantages as rare Pokemon, hidden items and new characters. To find moonstones, which you can use to speed the evolution of certain Pokemon, players must venture to the Underground and dig for treasure.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to Eternia City, then go to the home next to the Pokemon Center.

    • 2

Talk to the old man who lives inside and he will give you the Explorer Kit.

    • 3

Walk anywhere on the Sinnoh map that isn't inside a house, cave or other structure and press "X" to access the menu. Select your Explorer Kit and you will dig to The Underground.

    • 4

Find any rock formation that isn't a silver color (you cannot dig in this type of rock) and press "X" to bring up the menu. Select the Pickaxe and press "A" to dig into rock formations until a piece of treasure (i.e., a moonstone) is visible.

    • 5

Break the rocks from top to bottom until the treasure is unearthed. The placement of treasure throughout The Underground is random, so it will take some trial and error before you find a moonstone.
