How to Use the Darkrai Event Cheat Code

Nintendo's "Pokemon" franchise features rare and hard-to-capture varieties known as legendary Pokemon. While some of these individuals are possible to catch through normal play, many of them are technically impossible to encounter in-game without some sort of outside interference. In "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum" for the Nintendo DS, the elusive Darkrai is one of these special cases that cannot be accessed without a cheat code or special event. Nintendo holds these events sporadically and offers random legendary Pokemon as an incentive to attend; however, there is no way to know if an event will ever happen in your area. Fortunately, the Action Replay cheat device can help you get access to the Darkrai event at any time.

Instructions

  Enter the Game ID for your game on the Action Replay menu. The ID for "Pokemon Diamond" is "ADAE-636791C0," "APAE-31D0AFDE" is the code for "Pokemon Pearl," and "CPUE-d074d1b3-3811DEF6" is the Game ID for "Pokemon Platinum." If you are playing "Pokemon" on an emulator such as No$gba or DeSmuME, you do not need to enter the Game ID.

  Input the cheat code "94000130 FCFF0000 b21c4d28 00000000
  b0000004 00000000 0000aa3c EDB88320 2000aa68 00000008 d2000000 00000000" to turn on the Darkrai event. This code works for all three versions of the game.

  Walk into any Pokemart, and speak to the man in the green suit. You must press the "L" and "R" buttons simultaneously to make him appear. He will give you the Member Card, the event item required to access Newmoon Island.

  Travel to Canalave City, and enter the motel that was previously locked. After going to sleep inside, you will teleport to Newmoon Island.

  Capture Darkrai in the middle of the island. It will spawn at level 50 and can be caught with Ultra Balls or the Master Ball. Try disabling this beast with Paralyze or Sleep before attempting capture.
