How to Get a Boat Pass in Pokemon HeartGold

In "Pokemon HeartGold," you start your adventure in Johto, a region filled with tough Pokemon trainers. After you collect eight gym badges, defeat the Elite Four and prove your worth as one of Johto's best trainers, your character heads home for a well-deserved rest. Just when you think the game is over, you get the news that your mentor, Professor Elm, has a gift for you. When you talk to him, you receive the S.S. Ticket, a pass that lets you take a ship to the neighboring Kanto region.

  Head to the Pokemon League after you gather the eight gym badges in Johto. To get to the Pokemon League, go to New Bark Town. Get in the water there and surf east on Route 27. This leads you to Victory Road, and eventually to the Pokemon League.

  Defeat the Elite Four. After you win, you go back to your house in New Bark Town. Your character's mother tells you to visit Professor Elm for a present.

  Go to Professor Elm's lab in the northwest corner of New Bark Town. Talk to Professor Elm to receive the S.S. Ticket.

  Go to Olivine City and approach the ship, the S.S. Aqua. Before you board the ship, Professor Oak gives you the National Pokedex. Accept it and get on the ship to start the journey to Kanto.
