Darkai Event Code
If you are using the Action Replay with your Nintendo DS, first enter the Game ID "APAE-31D0AFDE" to activate "Pokemon Pearl" cheat codes. If you are instead playing your game on an emulator such as No$GBA or DeSmuME, you do not need to enter the Game ID. Next, plug in the code "94000130 FCFF0000 b21c4d28 00000000 b0000004 00000000 0000aa3c EDB88320 2000aa68 00000008 d2000000 00000000" to enable the rest of the event.
Member Card
To reach Darkrai's hiding place, you first need the Member Card. While this item is normally impossible to get without attending a Nintendo event, the cheat code you entered makes the card attainable in game. Press "L" and "R" at the same time to spawn a new merchant character inside any Pokemart. Look for the guy wearing green clothes and speak to him for your Member Card.
Newmoon Island
You might remember the locked building in Canalave City that you could not enter much earlier in the game. Now, with the Member Card in your inventory, you can walk into the building. Once inside, speak to the man to go to sleep. While asleep, the game will teleport you to Newmoon Island, Darkrai's home. Follow the path into the woods to encounter Darkai.
Capture Darkrai
Darkrai spawns at level 40 in "Pokemon Pearl" and is weak against fighting and bug type moves. He will attempt to put your Pokemon to sleep and further attack them with the Nightmare spell. Fortunately, he does not deal as much damage as other legendaries. After weakening him, try using a Paralyze or Sleep ability to disable him and make the capture with Ultra Balls.
