How Do You Get Through the Third Level of the Ice Cave on Pokemon SoulSilver?

As you progress through "Pokemon SoulSilver," you must travel through a multistory cave, the third floor of which makes it impossible to walk safely on its ice. This is because stepping on the ice causes you to slide all the way across it until you hit an obstacle. Getting through the third floor to the next one rewards you with access to a legendary Pokemon to add to your collection: Articuno.

Instructions

  Navigate through the ice cave until you reach the third floor, which is the second basement level.

  Walk left onto the patch of ice, which takes you all the way across to the wall. Press "Up" to slide all the way to the top.

  Walk right onto the patch of ice in front of the pink-haired trainer. This allows you to stop right in front of her rather than going too far. Press "Up" to slide upward, and then press "Right" to slide all the way to the wall. Press "Down" to slide to the wall and "Right" to exit the ice.

  Walk down onto the next ice patch so that you slide into the white-haired trainer. Walk right to slide off the ice.

  Walk east to access the ladder to the fourth floor.
