How to Get Past Filch in the Slytherin Hallways on LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 for DS

"LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4" is an interactive adventure game that allows players to experience the "Harry Potter" universe. Players will take control of various characters from the franchise, using the Nintendo DS stylus to cast spells and collect items. In their second year, Harry and Ron must infiltrate the Slytherin Common Room to get information about the Chamber of Secrets. Filch stands guard in the hallway leading to the common room, preventing anyone from passing.

Instructions

  Head north in the hallway. You will see Filch standing guard and blocking your path.

  Tap on an object to the left of Filch and cast the Transfiguration spell, following the motion and drawing a backwards "S" on the screen, which will turn the object into a bookcase.

  Stand on the south end of the bookcase and tap on it with the DS stylus. Harry, or Ron, should grab on to the bookcase. Tap the screen to move the bookcase in front of Filch, who will then stalk off in anger. You can now continue on in the level, but Filch will return later.

  Later in the level, move the statue down the pathway back into its original position while Filch is not looking. The Blood Baron will thank you for returning the statue and, as a reward, will send Peeves to distract Filch, allowing you to easily pass him.
