How to Get Objects for the Safari Zone

"Pokemon SoulSilver" and "HeartGold," released for the Nintendo DS in 2010, are remakes of "Pokemon Silver" and "Gold" on the Game Boy Color. However, despite being remakes, "SoulSilver" and "HeartGold" introduce new elements to the series, such as placing objects in the Safari Zone. By doing this, you can attract different and rare Pokemon that can be captured. However, to get objects for the Safari Zone, you must first perform two tasks for Baoba, the owner. These tasks are called the Owner Aptitude Test, and this first task is performed when you meet Baoba.

Instructions

  Travel to the Safari Zone, located west of Cianwood City in the Johto region.

  Enter the large building at the north end of the Safari Zone. Upon entering, you are greeted by the owner, Baoba.

  Select "Yes" to begin the Owner Aptitude Test. He asks you to bring him a Geodude from the Safari Zone.

  Enter the Safari Zone, and walk in the tall grass until you encounter a Geodude. Use a Safari Ball to capture Geodude.

  Return to Baoba. Show him the Geodude to pass the first task.

  Continue playing the game as normal until you receive a call on your Pokegear from Baoba, letting you know the second task is ready.

  Return to the Safari Zone, and speak to Baoba. He requests a Sandshrew from the Safari Zone.

  Press "A" in front of the area customizer, the blue machine in the upper right corner of the building. This machine allows you to configure the climate of the Safari Zone.

  Tap the "Peak" area with your stylus followed by "Switch." Select the "Desert" area from the climates provided. This makes the desert area the first area you encounter in the Safari Zone and is where Sandshrew can be found.

  Enter the Safari Zone, and walk in the tall grass until you encounter a Sandshrew. Use a Safari Ball to capture it.

  Return to Baoba, and show him the Sandshrew to pass the second task.

  Defeat the Elite Four at the end of the story mode to receive the National Dex.

  Return to Baoba in the Safari Zone. He gives you six Safari Zone objects that you can place in the zone.

  Press "A" in any empty space in the Safari Zone to place an object.
