How to Make a Custom Codelist File for Action Replay on the DS

The Action Replay device designed by Datel for the Nintendo DS allows you to input custom codes that temporarily alter the code contained in the DS game cartridges. These minor alterations to the internal coding cause a variety of changes to your gaming experience, including new abilities, unlocked characters and levels. New codes are constantly being created by the code makers at Datel, as well as other reputable gaming websites and magazines. These custom codes can be entered manually via the Action Replay interface on your Nintendo DS.

Instructions

    • 1

Load the Action Replay device into your Nintendo DS. Insert the game cartridge into the Action Replay device, then turn on the DS. Allow the Action Replay screen to load.

    • 2

Tap the "Codes" button on the Action Replay main menu. This will bring up a list of games that have data saved to the device. Scroll through the list until you have found the game for which you want to make a new code.

    • 3

Tap the "Add new code" option at the top of the screen. This will prompt you to name the code, and the software will reveal a virtual keyboard. Type a name for the code you wish to enter -- your code resource may already have a suggested name for the code. Press "Start" to proceed.

    • 4

Enter the code exactly as you see it in your code resource. If there are spaces, you do not have to enter these -- the software does this automatically. Press "Start" to save the code in to your Action Replay.

    • 5

Tap the box next to your new code to enable it. Press "Start" to launch the game with your new code enabled.
