How to Flash the DSi XL

WIth electronic devices that use firmware as the main operating software, you need to flash the device to update that software. With many computer peripherals this is a manual process but if you have a Nintendo DSi, then the process of flashing is controlled from the System menu. When you perform a System Update and are connected to the Internet, your DSi downloads the latest version of the firmware and then flashes it to your Nintendo DSi.

     Open the main menu and select "System Settings."

     Scroll right four screens and select "System Update."

   • 3

     Tap "Yes" to confirm the update process and then select "Next."

   • 4

     Select "I Agree" after you've read the license agreement, and then "OK." This flashes your device with the latest firmware.
