What Is the Best Way to Catch the Raikou in Pokemon SoulSilver?

Raikou, along with its sibling Pokemon, Suicune and Entei, are fairly difficult creatures to capture in ̶0;Pokemon SoulSilver.̶1; After you first encounter Raikou in the Burned Tower, it wildly runs across the Kanto region, making it difficult to track and capture in a Pokeball. Although it can be a pain to catch, Raikou̵7;s intense electric power and lightning quick speed make it an especially valuable member of anyone̵7;s Pokemon team.

  Open the Pokedex and flip to Raikou̵7;s position at numberó. Open the map to see Raikou̵7;s current location. Quickly get to the Route that Raikou is exploring before it runs away.

  Use special techniques on Raikou that will prevent it from running away such as ̶0;Mean Look,̶1; ̶0;Glare̶1; or ̶0;Hypnosis.̶1; Making Raikou fall asleep or paralyzing Raikou keeps it from escaping and makes it easier to capture in a Pokeball.

  Bring a strong Pokemon that knows the move ̶0;False Swipe.̶1; ̶0;False Swipe̶1; hits the opponent and damages it to its last health point. A wild Raikou with a single point of health will be much easier to catch. Some Pokemon that can learn this move include Cubone, Marowak and Nincada.

  Throw special Pokeballs at Raikou when its health is especially low, such as Ultra Balls or Heavy Balls. Ultra Balls are general heavy-duty Pokeballs, while Heavy Balls are more effective against weighty Pokemon. Consider hunting for Raikou at night, when Dusk Balls are the most effective.
