How to Connect Two DS Lites Together

Single Game Connection

  Examine the game's packaging. You will see two DS Lite icons. One will be black and the other white. This indicates that only one person needs to own the game for you to connect and play with them.

  Turn off both DS Lites by pressing their respective "Power" buttons. If you own the game, you are the connection's "host." Insert the game cartridge into your system and turn both DS Lites on.

  Select or download the game. If you are the host, use your plastic stylus to select the game you wish to play. For the connecting party, select the "Menu" option with your stylus and tap the panel labeled "DS Download Play." A screen will display, showing the available games to download. Select the game you wish to play. A confirmation note will appear. Select "Yes" to download the required data from your host.

  Refer to your game's instructions. From this point on, the connection method is entirely dependent on a game-by-game basis. However, games generally have a "Multiplayer" option in their main menus.
