Mantine is a Water and Flying-type Pokemon introduced in the second generation ̶0;Gold,̶1; ̶0;Silver̶1; and ̶0;Crystal̶1; Pokemon games. Mantine's pre-evolution form is Mantyke. While its counterpart Skarmory specializes in Defense, Mantine specializes in Special Defense, with a base stat of 140. Mantine̵7;s level-up attacks include ̶0;Aqua Ring,̶1; ̶0;Confuse Ray,̶1; ̶0;Hydro Pump̶1; and ̶0;Agility," and additional attacks such as "Ice Beam," "Earthquake," and "Rock Slide" can be taught via Technical Machines. Because Mantine cannot be found in the wild in ̶0;SoulSilver,̶1; players must obtain one from another trainer.

     Surf south from Pallet Town onto Route 21. Battle all the fishermen on the route until you defeat Fisherman Gideon. This will register Mantine̵7;s identity in your Pokedex.

     Fly to Goldenrod City and enter the Global Trade Station. Talk to the receptionist and enter the trade area.

     Offer to trade one of your Pokemon for a level 10 or higher Mantine. Exit the trade area.

     Reenter the trade area every few hours. You will likely receive a Mantine within one day.
