How to Get to the Basement of the Old Chateau in Pokemon

The Old Chateau is a place in "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl" where players can interact with ghostly Pokemon and human characters alike while coping with paranormal decor that takes on a life of its own. Many Pokemon players have missed the frightening experience offered by the mansion because it's a nonessential, hard-to-find site. Its basement room holds one of the ghost residents, as well as a coveted pearl.

Max Repel (optional)

Instructions

  Enter Eterna Forest from its entrance in Eterna City and walk to the left of your starting location until you reach the row of small trees.

  Press "A" to interact with the trees and receive the offer to use "HM Cut" on them, which eliminates the trees. Select the "Cut" option.

  Walk straight up to reach Old Chateau and enter through the front doors. Walking through the tall grass on the front lawn of the estate runs the risk of encountering wild Pokemon, so if you want to stay out of battle, use a Max Repel before wading through the grass.

  Walk straight ahead through the foyer area, past the two flights of stairs leading to the left and right, and into the dark door that leads to the mansion's basement.
