How to Get a Perfect Internet Signal on a DSi

The Nintendo DSi allows you to connect the device to a wireless access point and access the Nintendo WFC network to play games or download additional content. When you connect your Nintendo DSi to a wireless access point, you may notice that your Internet signal is substantially weaker than you prefer, introducing lag into the game. The speed of the Internet signal on the DSi is based on its proximity to the wireless access point and items that could cause wireless network interference. To get the perfect Internet signal on your DSi, eliminate interferences and increase the broadcast range of the network.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the wireless router that broadcasts the signal you connect to on a desk, counter or nightstand on the same floor that you play the DSi on, preferably in a location where the signal must pass through fewer walls. Wireless broadcast points provide the strongest signals if on the same vertical level as the connecting component. Walls reduce the strength of the Wi-Fi signal.

    • 2

Turn off devices that can interfere with the wireless broadcast signal. These are any devices that emit a radio frequency, including microwave ovens, baby monitors, cordless phones and even fluorescent lights.

    • 3

Move nearer to the wireless access point when playing the DSi. This may eliminate anything that may be reducing the signal strength of the wireless broadcast.
