Shoot the tiny snakes the Basilisk sends at you with the reducto spell, quickly sliding the stylus toward them to cast the spell.
Hop up to the middle section of the combat area. Cast the wingardium leviosa spell, with an upward arc motion of the stylus, on the object in front of the hole the snake is about to come out of, stunning him. You can tell which hole this is by the glowing aura that appears around the object.
Jump down off the platform while the Basilisk is stunned and shoot him with the reducto spell several times. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until the second phase of the fight begins.
Head to the right once the Basilisk breaks the gate to reveal a new path. Cast reducto to remove any objects that block your path and dodge the Basilisk's tail attacks.
Continue heading right until you come to the parseltongue spot. Speak parseltongue, by tapping the snake pattern on the gate and blowing into the DS microphone, and a new pathway opens.
Head down the new pathway and find another parseltongue spot. Use it to reveal three platforms. Head over to these platforms and cast the descendo spell, motion a toward arc with the stylus, to make them drop down so you can jump on them.
Continue through the labyrinth, avoiding the Basilisk's tail attacks. When you reach a builder, destroy it with the reducto spell and it reveals a sword stuck in the ground. Cast the wingardium leviosa spell to bring the sword to you and end the battle. After a cut-scene, you complete year two.
