How to Headbutt Trees in Pokemon SoulSilver

To capture every Pokemon in "Pokemon SoulSilver" you have to look in a Pokemon's natural habitat, including trees. A headbutt to the tree is just the thing needed to force out a Bug Type, a Flying Type and other Pokemon that make their homes in the treetops. Although a few Pokemon can learn the Headbutt ability by leveling up, several hundred more can learn the ability from a Move Tutor. Once the ability is learned, you can headbutt any tree in the game; however, not every tree contains a Pokemon.

     Travel to Ilex Forest, which is west of Azalea Town where you receive your second badge.

     Talk to the Move Tutor in Ilex Forest and select a Pokemon that you want to learn the Headbutt ability. Not every Pokemon can learn Headbutt, however you can teach the move the multiple Pokemon by talking the the Move Tutor again.

     Stand in front of a tree with a Pokemon in your party that knows the Headbutt ability.

     Press the "A" button to use the Headbutt ability on the tree.
