How to Find HM Rock Climb in Pokemon SoulSilver

"Pokemon SoulSilver" lets you play the role of a Pokemon trainer who must prove his mettle by entering the wilds, fighting Pokemon and training some of these fierce creatures. As with other traditional role-playing games, you must collect items that grant you abilities that you need in order to advance past certain sections of the game's world. One of these abilities is called Rock Climb. Once you obtain it, you will be able to scale previously impassable mountains and other high areas.

     Take on rival trainers in the Viridian City gym. After you win this series of matches, you will get a call from Professor Oak.

     Fly to Pallet Town after taking the call from Oak, who says he has an important item for you.

     Enter Pallet Town and visit Professor Oak's laboratory. When you speak to him, he will present you with HM08, which gives you the Rock Climb ability. Oak will tell you that you can now climb Mt. Silver, where your next adventure awaits.
