How to Make a Fast Ball in Pokemon HeartGold

Prior to the third generation of the "Pokemon" video games, players were limited to four kinds of Poke Balls: regular Poke Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls and Master Balls. In "Pokemon Gold," players were introduced to several new kinds of balls; these same Poke Balls can be found in "Pokemon HeartGold." One of them is the Fast Ball, which is more effective than other Poke Balls at catching Pokemon with high Speed stats, such as Ponyta and Doduo. When you throw a Fast Ball, you're four times more likely to catch one of these Pokemon.

     Find an Apricorn-bearing tree and collect Apricorns until you get a white Apricorn, which can be made into a Fast Ball. Apricorn-bearing trees are smaller than other trees in the game. Tap "A" when you are standing next to one of the trees to pick the Apricorns.

     Head to Azalea Town and go to Kurt's house. Kurt creates Poke Balls from Apricorns. He will ask you which Apricorn he should use; select the white Apricorn.

     Wait one day and return to Kurt's house; your Fast Ball will be ready.
