How to Get the Ranger Class in Dragon Quest IX?

The "Dragon Quest" series began with "Dragon Quest," an innovative role-playing game released to the Japanese Famicom in 1986, making it's way to the original Nintendo Entertainment System three years later. "Sentinels of The Starry Skies" is the ninth installment in the series and introduces a new multiplayer mode, as well as a number of vocations, or character classes, to choose for your career. Characters who wish to access bonus vocations, such as the Ranger class, must complete special tasks before they can switch careers.

Instructions

  Add a thief with the "Toxic Dagger" skill to your party.

  Travel to the Heights of Loneliness and speak to the man with the blue speech icon above his head. He will give you the "Ranger Changer" quest.

  Make your way into the Heights of Loneliness and begin hunting for Hocus Chimaerae. Use your thief's "Toxic Dagger" ability to poison them. Let the venom kill them on it's own. Kill three of these creatures in this manner to complete the quest and gain access to the Ranger class.

  Defeat the boss at The Tower of Trades if you haven't done so already. Travel to Alltrades Alley and speak to Jack, who will allow you to switch to the Ranger vocation.
