How Do You Get the Maglev Train Ticket in the Game Pokemon HeartGold?

The maglev train, officially called the Magnet Train, runs between the Johto and Kanto regions in the ̶0;Pokemon HeartGold̶1; game for the Nintendo DS. The train allows players to quickly travel between Goldenrod City and Saffrom City; however, it̵7;s not accessible until later on in the game because Team Rocket stole the train̵7;s power source. In order to get the train operational again and to acquire a ticket, you must find and defeat the team member who has the missing part. Once you have your ticket, you can travel between the two regions whenever you want as the train runs all day, every day.

Instructions

  Head over to the Power Plant in the Kanto region and use the Surf ability to move downward and enter the building. Talk to the Power Plant manager, who is waiting for you in the center of the room. He tells you that he is missing an important part that is affecting the power supply. When you leave, you overhear a guard mention a ̶0;shady character̶1; hiding out in Cerulean City.

  Travel to Cerulean City and head to the gym. When you enter the gym, you will encounter a Team Rocket Grunt. He̵7;ll see you and run, but you will encounter him again at the northern bridge, so head over there once you see him disappear. The Team Rocket Grunt only brings one Pokemon with him to the battle, and it is pretty easy to defeat. After you defeat him, he tells you that he hid the stolen part in the Cerulean Gym. Return to the gym and go to the top left section of the swimming pool. Click near the life buoys to find the missing part.

  Head back to the Power Plant and talk with the the Power Plant manager again. He will take the missing part from you and attach it to the proper machine. The power will begin running again. As a thank you, he gives you the TM57. This teaches Pokemon the Charge Beam attack.

  Head to the Pokemon Center in Saffron City and then head north. You̵7;ll see a pink house in the second row of houses that you pass. Go up to this house and head upstairs. Talk to the girl sitting at the table. She tells you that she will give you the train pass if you find her missing Poke Doll.

  Follow the girl̵7;s directions by heading to Vermilion City. Once there, go to the Pokemon Fan Club building and speak with the man in front of the building. He gives you the girl̵7;s Poke Doll. It will be listed as a Lost item once it is in your backpack.

  Head back to Saffron City and give the girl back her Poke Doll. She will give you the Magnet Train Pass as promised. With this pass, you will be able to use the train any time you want.
