How to Do Synthesis in DQM

In "Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker," players capture and battle against each other with monsters from the "Dragon Quest" series, such as King Slimes, Drackys and Hammerhoods. However, capturing monsters is not the only way to obtain them, as players can also synthesize two monsters together. In synthesis, two monsters are fused together to create a stronger monster. For example, fusing two Behemoth Slimes allows you to receive a King Slime, a monster with higher attack, defense and health points. After the events at Infant Isle, the ability to synthesize monsters is unlocked and can be performed any time you have access to the map.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to any scout post from the map. Press "A" while standing in front of the woman behind the desk at the back of the scout post.

    • 2

Select "Synthesize" to begin synthesis. You can also select "Help" to view in-game help topics on synthesizing or "Exit" to stop speaking to the woman.

    • 3

Select the first "Monster" category. A list of all monsters you have captured appears on the right side of the screen. Select any monster to place him in the first "Monster" slot.

    • 4

Select the second "Monster" category to select the second monster for synthesis in the same manner as the first.

    • 5

Select one of the three "Result" choices at the bottom of the screen. Depending on the monsters you have selected, there can be three possible synthesized monsters to choose from.

    • 6

Select "Synthesize." The two monsters are combined to create the monster specified on the "Result" selection you choose.

    • 7

Enter a name for your monster. Names can be created from letters, numbers or symbols and can be eight characters or less. Select "OK" in the bottom right corner of the screen when you are finished.

    • 8

Select three skills for your synthesized monster to learn. The skills available to select are the skills of the two monsters used in the synthesis. Select "Confirm" when you are finished.

    • 9

Select "Add to Team" to add the newly synthesized monster to your active team. Select "Send to Storage" to use the monster at a later date. You are then taken back to the synthesis main menu.

    • 10

Select "Exit" to leave the menu.
