In "Pokemon HeartGold," a 2010 remake of "Pokemon Gold," released 10 years prior, your character can find items throughout the world that contain hidden moves. You can teach certain Pokemon different hidden moves, such as HM04, which is Strength. Strength helps you push away large boulders outside of battle, and it functions like a regular attack inside of battle. You can only teach Strength to Pokemon who are strong enough, such as Primeape or Ursaring.

Play through the game until you defeat the fourth gym leader, Morty of Ecruteak City.

Walk east onto Route 42.

Continue east until you approach a cave. As you get close to the cave, you will be stopped by a mountain climber. After a short conversation, he will give you Strength to use on your Pokemon.
