How to Get a Puppy on Nintendogs

Created for the Nintendo DS family of portable game consoles, Nintendogs comes in three different versions: Lab, Dachshund and Chihuahua. Your puppy realistically barks, whines, frolics and plays thanks to Nintendogs engrossing 3D graphics and sound. Feeding, grooming and training your puppy earns training points. With enough points, you can buy Fido a playmate. You can raise up to three different puppies in Nintendogs.

Instructions

  Visit the kennel and choose your first puppy. After naming your puppy, you will speak "sit" into the DS microphone to teach your puppy his first trick.

  Feed, brush and wash your puppy. Good puppy care requires for a dog to be fed at the same time each day. You earn training points for each activity. Play with your puppy and teach him new tricks such as sit, roll over, shake and high-five to earn more points.

  Walk your puppy. He starts out with a small amount of stamina. You will have to take him back when he is exhausted. By walking him daily, his stamina increases and he can go longer distances. While on your walk, visit either the park or the gym. At the park, you can increase your puppy's agility by playing catch with either a ball or flying disc. The gym is an agility course for dogs with a set of obstacles for training.

  Enter one of the three dog contests: disc competition, agility or obedience. Each contest has the following rankings: beginner, open, expert, master and championship. You will win from $30 for third place to $100 for first place in a beginner dog contest.

  Continue earning training points. You can purchase a new puppy when you reach 2,000 training points. Depending on your Nintendogs version, you could buy a pug, pinscher or Yorkie. Other breeds are more expensive.
