How Do You Find & Get Old Amber in the Game Pokemon SoulSilver?

Old Amber is one of many fossils featured in the game "Pokemon SoulSilver." Taking a piece of Old Amber to the museum in Pewter City allows you to revive the ancient Pokemon Aerodactyl. The game features an unlimited supply of Old Amber, allowing you to add as many Aerodactyl as you like to your Pokemon team. However, in order to obtain a piece of Old Amber, you must first find it inside rocks located in the Ruins of Alph.

Instructions

  Travel to Route 36 using your preferred method and speak to a man on the path to teach one of your Pokemon the Rock Smash ability. Multiple Pokemon can learn this ability, but to use the ability outside of battle you must have the Pokemon in your party. Therefore, the best strategy is to teach the move to a Pokemon you are sure you will be using or to multiple Pokemon in your party.

  Fly to Violet City and travel southwest to find the Ruins of Alph. Enter the ruins.

  Stand next to any stone in the Ruins of Alph and press the "Action" button. You will be asked if you want to use Rock Smash. Confirm the selection to break open the rock.

  Break rocks in the Ruins of Alph until you find a piece of Old Amber.

  Take the Old Amber to the museum in Pewter City to turn it into an Aerodactyl, or sell the item at any store to earn 500 gold.
