The Recruitment List for Fire Emblem for DS

"Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon" is a remake of the original NES "Fire Emblem," and it is the only widely available "Fire Emblem" game made for the Nintendo DS. You can recruit dozens of characters to fight in your army, though some require you to make decisions during the game. In general, in order to recruit a character living in a village, Marth must visit that village.

  1. Prologue and Chapter 1

    • Marth and Frey are available from the first prologue chapter and are joined by Abel in the second. Jagen and Cain join in the third chapter, and you can recruit Gordin in chapter 4 by talking to him. In Chapter 1, you gain Draug and Shiida, gaining Norne if you have dropped below four characters. In Hard mode, you gain all the prologue characters except Frey in Chapter 1. Wrys is in a village in Chapter 1.

    Chapters 2-4

    • Ogma, Barst, Bord and Cord all join at the beginning of Chapter 2. You can recruit Castor with Shiida and Darros with Marth. Julian and Lena join at the start of Chapter 3, and you can recruit Nabarl with Shiida. Visit the village in Chapter 4 with Marth to pick up Merric, and talk to Mathis with Lena to have him join.

    Chapters 5-10

    • Hardin, Wolf, Sedgar, Roshea and Vyland join at the beginning of Chapter 5, and you can talk to Wendell with Marth or Merric to recruit him. Talk to Rickard with Marth in Chapter 6 to pick him up. Athena lives in a village in 6x, and the village in Chapter 7 holds Bantu. Ceasar and Radd join at the beginning of Chapter 8, and you also recruit Roger with Shida. Jeorge lives in the village in Chapter 9. Marth can recruit Maria and Minerva in Chapter 10.

    Chapters 11-15

    • Linde is in the village in Chapter 11, and Shiida can recruit Jake after visiting Anna's house. Midia, Dolph, Macellam, Tomas and Boah join at the beginning of Chapter 12. Horace will join after the end of Chapter 12x if he survives the battle. In Chapter 13, Beck lives in the village, and Astram joins if you talk to her with Midia. Palla and Catria are enemies in Chapter 14 who Marth can recruit. Finally, you can choose between Arran and Samsun in chapter 15 by visiting either the left or right village respectively.

    Chapters 16-24x

    • Talk to Xane in Chapter 16 with Marth. Etzel joins at the end of 17x if he survives the scenario. Marth can recruit Est in Chapter 18, and Bantu can recruit Tiki in Chapter 19. Talk to Lorenz with Marth or Shida in Chapter 20 to recruit him. If you talk to Ymir in Chapter 20x, he will join at the end if he survives. Elice joins automatically in Chapter 24, and you can recruit Nagi at the end of Chapter 24x or Gotoh at the beginning of the Final chapter if you don't get to 24x.
