How to Find Rock Climb in Pokemon Soul Silver

"Pokemon SoulSilver," the updated version of the role-playing game "Pokemon Silver," offers numerous items throughout the world that give your Pokemon additional moves to learn in the form of technical moves and hidden moves, or TMs and HMs. The eighth hidden move, Rock Climb, allows you to climb up large walls of rock to travel to otherwise inaccessible areas of the world. The only way to get this move is from Professor Oak in Pallet Town.

Instructions

  Load your saved game in "Pokemon SoulSilver."

  Play through the game until you earn all Kanto badges. The final gym leader is your rival from the beginning of the game. As soon as you receive your final badge, you will receive a call from Professor Oak requesting your presence.

  Press "X" and select "Pkmn." Select any Pokemon that can fly, and press "A" on "Fly."

  Highlight Pallet Town and press "A" to select it as your destination. You and your Pokemon will fly to Pallet Town, landing just next door to Professor Oak's office.

  Walk to the left and enter the building. Walk up and speak to Professor Oak, who will give you HM08, Rock Climb.

  Press "X" and open your items bag. Select "HM08" to assign it to one of your Pokemon. Rock-type Pokemon, such as Geodude, can learn this move.
