How Do I Get Through the Whirlpool Island Cave in SoulSilver?

The Whirl Islands are a series of four islands located on Route 41 in the Johto region. Like their name suggests, the islands are surrounded by whirlpools that block entry. In ̶0;Pokemon SoulSilver̶1; for the Nintendo DS, the legendary Pokemon Lugia awaits the player at the bottom of the cave on the northeast island. To reach the bottom of the cave, you must first obtain a key item that grants access to Lugia̵7;s lair.

Instructions

  Get all eight gym badges and fly to New Bark Town. Talk to Professor Elm to get the Master Ball.

  Fly to Ecruteak City and enter the Kimono House. Defeat the Eevee-evolution-wielding Kimono Sisters to get the Tide Bell, which is key to completing the cave.

  Fly to Olivine City and surf southeast to reach the Whirl Islands. Use HM05, Whirlpool, to clear the whirlpool blocking the northeast island. Step onto the island and enter the cave.

  Use "Flash" to illuminate the cave. Hop down the ledges until you come across two parallel ledges. Hop down the upper ledge and climb down the ladder.

  Continue down the next ladder and head south. Talk to the monk, and he will notice your Tide Bell and allow you to pass. Continue south and enter the cave to reach Lugia̵7;s lair.
