4th Generation Pokemon Games
In previous generations, Rhydon was the final form of the Rhyhorn evolution. As such, Rhydon can only evolve in games published during or after the fourth generation of Pokemon releases "Diamond," "Pearl," and "Platinum," as well as the remakes of "Gold" and "Silver" and fifth generation games "Black" and "White." Once it does, it becomes incompatible with earlier versions of the game series.
About Rhyperior
Rhyperior is a strong Pokemon with the useful abilities "Solid Rock" and "Lightning Rod." "Solid Rock" reduces the effectiveness of super-effective attacks used on it, such as Grass-type and Water-type moves, by half. It also has a very high defense and strength ̵1; the 8th-highest Strength in the game ̵1; and can learn unusual special moves such as "Flamethrower" and "Fire Punch."
Equipping the Protector
To evolve Rhydon to Rhyperior, you must first make it hold a Protector item. The Protector is found on Route 228 in "Diamond," "Pearl," and "Platinum." In the "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" versions, you can find it in the Johto region in Mount Mortar. In "Pokemon Black" it is found on Route 11, and in "Pokemon White" it is on Route 13. You can then equip it in the Pokemon status screen.
Trading Rhydon
To evolve a Rhydon, you can trade it between any two DS Pokemon games, which includes games from the fourth and fifth generations. You can trade wirelessly with your friends nearby or via the Trading Station or Global Link. Finally, you can also "trade" with the game "Battle Revolution" for the Wii. If Rhydon has the Protector item equipped when it is traded, it will evolve as soon as it reaches the other side.
