How to Create a Music Folder for the Nintendo DSi

Mostly popular for gaming, the Nintendo DSi portable gaming console allows you to play your favorite songs, albums and artists on the go. Using your computer, you can transfer songs to your gaming console quickly without using third-party music or synchronizing software. DSi allows you to create music folders to organize music before uploading them to your device. You can organize songs by genre, artist, album or your personal playlist. Not only only will it keep your DSi organized, it will allow you to find the songs you want to play quickly.

      Insert your SD or SDHC card into the card slot on your PC or Mac. If your computer doesn't come with a built-in card reader, purchase an SD card reader from a retail or electronics store. Once purchased, connect the card to your computer using the USB cable that comes with it, and insert the card into the card slot.

      Locate your SD card's drive on the desktop if you're using a Mac and double-click it. Double-click "Computer" on the desktop if you're using Windows, and then double-click your card's drive.

      Right-click the drive window and click "New Folder" to create a new folder. If you're using a Mac, hold "Control," press the left mouse button, and then click "New Folder" to create a new folder. Name the folder whatever you want, and double-click it to open it.

      Locate your music files from the folders or location you saved them in and drag them to the folder you created.

      Create more new folders if you want to organize music in several different folders.

      Close the music folders when you finish, and disconnect the card from your computer.

      Plug the card into your Nintendo DSi, and launch the media player to play your audio files.
