How to Get to the Side of Kanto Were Pallet Town Is

You start your journey in "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver" in the Johto region of the world. After defeating the Elite Four and rising to the title of Pokemon League Champion, you can explore the Kanto region, the region featured in the first generation of Pokemon games. Before visiting the part of Kanto where Pallet Town is located, you must move the Snorlax blocking your access to Diglett's Cave.

Instructions

  Visit the power plant north of Lavender Town. You will find that the power plant is missing a critical part and the person who stole it is hiding in Cerulean City.

  Travel west along Route 9 to Cerulean City, then enter the Cerulean City Gym. The only person you will see in the gym is the thief, who attempts to escape by running north along Route 24. The thief is dressed in a black Team Rocket uniform. Follow him and then defeat him in a Pokemon battle to find out where he hid the missing part.

  Enter the Cerulean City Gym, walk up to the life preservers in the upper left corner of the gym and then press "A" recover the missing power plant part. The part is hidden inside the life preservers and cannot be seen on your screen. Travel to the power plant and talk to the plant worker to return the part and get the plant working again.

  Go south on Route 10 to return to Lavender Town, then talk to the man in the Radio Tower to get an expansion card for your PokeGear.

  Fly to Vermilion City and then travel east on Route 11. Turn on the PokeFlute radio station to wake up and battle the Snorlax sleeping in your way.

  Travel through the Diglett's Cave. You will be just south of Pewter City on the western side of Kanto when you exit the cave. Travel south from the cave's exit to get to Viridian City and Pallet Town.
