How to Make a Living Statue in Dragon Quest Monsters

In the Nintendo DS monster-breeding game, "Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker," the Living Statue tramples smaller opponents beneath its massive stone feet. The Living Statue, a Rank A monster, uses its Critical Massacre trait to score critical hits on enemies. When it uses the Barricade ability, it protects your allies with a magical shield. The monster's stone body protects it from attacks that put other creatures to sleep. To make the Living Statue, synthesize a Golem with a Buffalogre or a Metal Slime Knight.

Instructions

    • 1

Head to the island of Xeroph and look for a Golem. Golems look like large, brown statues made of bricks. When you find a Golem, talk to it and choose "Recruit." If you cannot find a Golem, you can synthesize one using a Gigantes and a Rockbomb.

    • 2

Find and recruit a Metal Slime Knight or a Buffalogre. Metal Slime Knights are a combination of a green Knight and a silver Slime. Buffalogres are large, yellow monsters with horns and a purple mane. To get a Metal Slime Knight, search Terrible Island. To find a Buffalogre, explore Tarturus.

    • 3

Go to any town's scout post. Talk to the woman at the post and choose "Synthesize." You'll see a list of your monsters.

    • 4

Look at the monster's charges. The Golem and the Metal Slime Knight or Buffalogre must have different charges to synthesize them. For example, if the Golem has a negative charge, it only combines with monsters that have a positive or neutral charge.

    • 5

Select the Golem as the first monster in the Synthesis process. Choose a Metal Slime Knight or Buffalogre with a different charge. A picture of the resulting monster, Living Statue, will appear. Tap it to proceed with the synthesis.

    • 6

Give the new Living Statue a name and then choose its skills. When you finish, you can put the Living Statue in the storage center or take it with you.
