In the DS game "Nintendogs," the handkerchief is an extremely rare present that requires a lot of patience and a little bit of luck to find. The benefit of finding the elusive handkerchief is that it unlocks the Weimaraner dog breed within the game. To find the handkerchief, you'll first need to have a Jack Russell Terrier dog.

  Unlock the Jack Russell Terrier. If you don't have this dog yet, you'll need to find the Jack Russell Terrier book on one of your walks. This book can be challenging to find. To increase your odds of locating the book, you'll want to have the clover clock in your inventory and the lucky collar around your pet's neck. Make sure your pet's stamina is high, because the longer your walk, the better your chances of finding the book.

  Increase your Jack Russell Terrier's stamina by taking it on increasingly long walks. This stamina will help you locate the rare handkerchief during one of your future walks.

  Keep your Jack Russell Terrier well fed, clean and happy. A freshly washed pup with a full tummy will be more likely to locate the handkerchief than a hungry, unhappy pup.

  Walk your happy, healthy and clean Jack Russell Terrier until you find the handkerchief. This handkerchief will appear by luck, so you'll need persistence to find it. The handkerchief will appear as a wrapped gift, just like all other items in the game.
