How to Get a Fishing Pole in Pokemon SoulSilver

"Pokemon: SoulSilver" is a Nintendo DS remake of the original "Pokemon Silver" for the GameBoy. The SoulSilver version features enhanced graphics and new Pokemon available in new locations. One common way to catch Pokemon is to use a fishing rod in any source of water the player can reach. Fishing rods can be obtained in a few spots throughout the game, but the first one you can get is called the "Old Rod."

     Head to Violet City, located in the center of your world map.

     Walk south until you exit the city. You will find yourself on Route 32.

     Travel south on Route 32 until you reach a Pokemon Center.

     Enter the Pokemon Center and talk to everyone. One man will offer you the "Old Rod." Press "Yes" to accept and obtain your own fishing rod.
