How to Beat the Second Gym Leader in Pokemon SoulSilver?

In "Pokemon SoulSilver Version," a boy named Bugsy runs the Azalea Town gym, and you need to defeat his team of bug-type Pokemon to earn the Hive Badge. To reach Bugsy, ride on the backs of spiders as they move across the webs in the gym. When you confront Bugsy, you meet his team: Kakuna, Metapod and Scyther. Kakuna and Metapod only have two weak attacks, but Scyther can cause you problems with moves like Quick Attack and Defense Curl. To defeat the second gym leader, Bugsy, use Pokemon that know fire or rock attacks.

Instructions

  Put a fire-type Pokemon in your team, such as the starter Pokemon, Cyndaquil. If you do not have a fire Pokemon, use a rock Pokemon, such as Onix. If you don't have a rock Pokemon, use any type of Pokemon over level 18. Bugsy's Pokemon are fairly weak, so almost any Pokemon can defeat them.

  Enter the gym in the center of Azalea Town. Step on the left spider to move closer to Bugsy.

  Ride the next spider to reach a pair of twin trainers. Flip the switch next to the twins. Get back on the spider. It takes you to a red switch. Flip the red switch and return to the spider to reach Bugsy.

  Send out your fire or rock Pokemon, or another strong Pokemon, to battle Bugsy's Scyther. Use your Pokemon's strongest attack against Scyther. Sometimes, Scyther uses the U-Turn move. This move damages you, and after Scyther uses the move, Bugsy immediately sends out one of his other Pokemon. The replacement Pokemon takes the damage from the attack you used.

  Keep attacking Scyther and healing your Pokemon as necessary. If you use fire or rock moves, Scyther dies in about two hits. Other Pokemon may need four or five hits to take Scyther down.

  Defeat Bugsy's other Pokemon, Metapod and Kakuna, with any Pokemon. Metapod and Kakuna are very weak, and they do not damage your Pokemon much. When you defeat them, you beat Bugsy and earn his Hive Badge.
