Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 and the Great Land Festival

The Great Land Festival is one of hundreds of optional missions in "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift" for the Nintendo DS. It isn't necessary to complete this mission to finish the game, but it allows you to gain experience and earn loot. The Great Land Festival mission becomes available when you meet certain prerequisites. The quest can only be completed by some members of your party.
  1. Mission Prerequisites

    • Two missions in "Final Fantasy Tactics A2" make reference to the Great Land Festival -- Wanted: Barmaid and the Great Land Festival. To unlock them, you need to complete three quests: Stranger in the Woods, which is the game's first quest, A Paw Full of Feathers and the Yellow Wings. Complete each quest in the list to unlock the next.

    Month

    • The mission descriptions for the quests say that the Great Land Festival is held during the month of Silversun, but you can only claim these quests from the pub during Goldsun. The Jylland calendar has 240 days with 12 months of 20 days each: Greenfire, Bloodfire, Rosefire, Coppersun, Goldsun, Silversun, Ashleaf, Mistleaf, Emberleaf, Plumfrost, Blackfrost and Skyfrost. One day passes each time you travel from one city to another and every time you complete a quest. It's possible to skip through the dates quickly by continually moving until you arrive at the desired month.

    Wanted: Barmaid

    • Your clan's negotiation and adaptability scores must be three or higher to accept this mission. After claiming it, travel to Targ Wood, where you're asked to leave "an attractive barmaid" in the town for 10 game days to work the festival. The mission petitioner is looking for a female member of your clan. You can't send one of your main characters, such as Adelle, so your best choice early in the game is a Viera -- part of the race of female characters with rabbit-like ears. Later on, you'll encounter Gria, another all-female race, which can be dispatched for this mission. The character's job isn't important, but you won't be able to use her in another mission until this quest is complete, at which point you'll receive 880 gil, six knots of rust, three ether potions and three phoenix downs.

    The Great Land Festival

    • Your negotiation and adaptability scores must be at least four to accept this quest, which is set in Camoa. This time, the petitioner wants an entertainer for the Great Land Festival, and your best bet is a character with the juggler job. Only a Moogle can become a juggler, and he first has to master two thief action abilities and two tinker action abilities. The character has to be set as a juggler at the time he is dispatched for the quest to succeed in the mission. After completing the 10-day quest, your juggler returns to your party and you receive 320 gil, eight knots of rust, four ether potions and four phoenix downs.
