How to Make a Shaymin Evolve in Pokémon Diamond

The Pokemon Shaymin appears in multiple Pokemon games, including "Pokemon Diamond." Unlike other Pokemon which evolve by gaining experience, Shaymin can only evolve by using a Gracidea Flower at a certain time of day. This causes Shaymin to evolve to its Sky Form, which is a temporary evolved state. However, the Gracidea Flower is not available in "Pokemon Diamond," so in order to use Shaymin in Sky Form, you must first obtain it in the sister game "Pokemon Platinum" and then conduct a trade.

Instructions

  Fly to Floaroma Town after you capture Shaymin in "Pokemon Platinum." Put Shaymin at the front of your party.

  Talk to the woman to the left of the Pokemon Center in Floaroma Town to receive the Gracidea Flower.

  Open your key items menu and use the Gracidea Flower on Shaymin. You can only do this during the day, between 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Shaymin will evolve to its Sky Form.

  Talk to the woman behind the counter on the second floor of the Pokemon Center to conduct a trade. From here you can either trade to your "Pokemon Diamond" game via Wi-Fi Internet connection or through a wireless DS to DS connection if you have access to a second Nintendo DS system.

  Visit the Pokemon Center in your "Pokemon Diamond" game to receive your evolved Shaymin.
