How to Erase Data on a DS Cartridge

The Nintendo DS has an active homebrew development community, and most who develop homebrew applications for the handheld game system use a special kind of game cartridge called a DS or DSi cartridge, or card. A DS cartridge looks like a normal Nintendo DS game cartridge, but contains a slot where a Micro-SD card can be inserted containing application or game code and other information. You can clear a Nintendo DS homebrew card in a couple of steps. Please note that you can clear a homebrew card, but it not possible to clear a retail game card.
