On Animal Crossing, How Do You Catch Floating Presents?

"Animal Crossing: Wild World," released for the Nintendo DS in 2005, is the sequel to the GameCube game "Animal Crossing." A variety of new features were included in "Wild World," such as new items, characters and in-game features like floating presents. These presents float across the screen during the day and include a number of items for your character such as new furniture pieces. There is only one way to catch a floating present in "Animal Crossing: Wild World."

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a slingshot from Tom Nook's store, located randomly in each player's town. The slingshot costs 500 bells. The items are stocked randomly every day; keep checking the store until the slingshot appears.

    • 2

Press "Y" to access your inventory and equip your slingshot.

    • 3

Listen for the sound of a gust of wind, indicating a floating present has arrived. This sound can occur anywhere from 10 a.m. from 4 p.m. in real time when the minutes on the clock end in 4. For example, the gust of wind can occur at 10:04 or 10:24 a.m.

    • 4

Move from screen to screen looking for the floating present. The floating present appears on the top screen of your Nintendo DS when you are on the appropriate screen.

    • 5

      Stand underneath the floating present.

    • 6

Press "A" to fire a pellet from your slingshot straight into the air. When the pellet connects with the balloon holding the present, the balloon pops causing the present to fall.

    • 7

Travel one screen up from your current location to find the present. Press "A" while standing in front of the present to open it. The item inside is automatically added to your inventory.
