How to Activate Move Modifiers for Pokemon Platinum

"Pokemon Platinum" is one of the fourth installments of the Pokemon franchise and, along with "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl," the first traditional Pokemon game to be released on the Nintendo DS. In the game, you can use certain items to enhance or modify your Pokemon's battle moves. You can find these items or purchase them throughout the game and can only use them in battle. To use these items, you must select them from the "Items" menu during battle.

Instructions

  Obtain the battle item that you wish to activate. Nearly all battle items are available for purchase at the Veilstone Department Store. These items include "X Attack," which raises the attacking power of your Pokemon's moves and "Dire Hit," which raises the chance of the move obtaining a powerful critical hit.

  Enter into battle with either a wild Pokemon or a Trainer.

  Select "Items" from the Battle Menu. Select the battle item you wish to enable.

  Attack your opponent using any of the moves you wish to use. The move will be more powerful because of the modifying item.
