How to Get Gastly on Pokemon Pearl

Nintendo introduced Gastly, a purple, poisonous ghost, to the "Pokémon" series of games in 1996. In "Pokémon Pearl," trainers still seek out the power of Gastly. As Gastly levels up, it learns terrifying moves like Destiny Bond and Shadow Ball. Its Levitate ability lets it avoid all ground-type moves, such as Fissure. Gastly lives in the Lost Tower, a graveyard for departed Pokémon, as well as the Old Chateau, a haunted house hidden deep within Eterna Forest.

     Buy Dusk Balls at the Pastoria City store before you try to catch Gastly. Dusk Balls have a high Pokémon capture rate when used in dark places.

     Enter the Lost Tower on Route 209 or the Old Chateau on the western side of Eterna Forest.

     Walk around inside the building until Gastly appears. Gastly is very common, so it may appear after you take a few steps.

     Damage Gastly slightly to weaken it. Throw a Dusk Ball to capture Gastly.
