How to Get the Third Unknown Puzzle in Pokémon SoulSilver

In "Pokemon SoulSilver," Unown is one of the most mysterious Pokemon species you can catch. Players can find 28 different types of Unown in the hidden Ruins of Alph, and each forms a different alphabetical letter or punctuation mark. To capture all of the Unowns, you need to solve several puzzles. The third Unown puzzle waits for you across a pool of water in the depths of Union Cave. Solving the third puzzle gives you access to Unown W through Z.

Instructions

- 1
  Teach HM03 Surf to any of your water-type Pokemon. If you do not have Surf yet, travel to Ecruteak City and enter the Kimono Girl's house. Defeat the Team Rocket member and then talk to the owner of the house to get Surf.

  Head to Union Cave, located between Route 33 and Route 32. Walk left until you reach a four-way junction. Take the top-right path.

  Use the ladder at the end of the path to descend to Union Cave's lower level. Keep walking until you get to a pool of water. Surf across it, exit the water and go north to leave the room.

  Fight the trainer that attacks when you enter the next room. After you win, go through the next door to access the third puzzle.

  Slide the stone panels around to make a picture of the Ho-oh Pokemon. When you solve the puzzle, you can catch Unown W, X, Y and Z in the Ruins of Alph.
