Where to Catch a Snorunt in Pokemon

In "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pokemon Pearl," you can find Snorunt --- the triangular, Snow Hat Pokemon --- in a few select locations with the aid of the Poke Radar. While Snorunt is a relatively weak, Ice-type Pokemon, its evolved forms, Glalie and Froslass, are known for their mastery of icy attacks such as Blizzard, Hail and Ice Shard. Once Snorunt evolves, its frozen fighting power will dominate Dragon-, Ground-, Dragon- and Grass-type Pokemon.
  1. Snorunt Locations

    • Route 216, Route 217 and the Acuity Lakefront all contain small populations of Snorunt. Leave Snowpoint City from its eastern side to find Route 217. Walk north along Route 217 to enter the Acuity Lakefront, or head south to brave Route 216. These frozen lands can be problematic to travel, as the weather conditions shower your Pokemon with damaging hail, you cannot ride your bike through the blizzard and your Pokemon Trainer's speed is reduced due to the thick layer of snow on the ground.

    Snorunt's Hiding Spots

    • Walk into the grassy area of the location at which you choose to hunt for Snorunt. Like all other Pokemon in these frostbitten areas, Snorunt appears only to Pokemon Trainers who walk through the grass. You have a 12 percent chance of finding a Snorunt each time you use the Poke Radar in the areas where the Pokemon resides.

    Poke Radar

    • Bring the Poke Radar item along with you as you hunt for Snorunt. Professor Rowan awards you with the device after you encounter all 150 Pokemon in the local Pokedex. Although you don't have to capture 150 locally common Pokemon, you do have to see each of them in a Pokemon battle to add them to the Pokedex.

    Finding Snorunt

    • Activate the Poke Radar while standing in a patch of grass to make other patches of grass nearby shake. The shaking patches of grass show you exactly where the Pokemon in the immediate area are hiding. Walk into one of these shaking patches to encounter the hiding Pokemon. Run to a patch that sparkles as it shakes, as these have a higher chance of containing rare Pokemon like Snorunt.
